COVID - 19 Update:
30th September 2020
5th August 2020
If anyone in the setting has symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19): a high temperature, new and persistent cough or a loss of, or change in, normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia), however mild, they should self-isolate for at least 10 days from when their symptoms started; or if they are not experiencing symptoms, but have tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19), they should self-isolate for at least 10 days starting from the day the test was taken.
If they have tested positive whilst not experiencing symptoms, but develop symptoms during the isolation period, they should restart the 10 day isolation period from the day they develop symptoms.
This only applies to those who begin their isolation on or after 30 July.

If my child is contracted to 4 days and I decided to do 2 (for example) what would I pay?
You would pay 2 days at full rate and a 25% retention fee for the other 2 days.
What if I don’t need my child to return from 1st June but would like them to come back in the next few months?
If you are not wanting to return to Nursery from 1st June, you will pay a retention fee of 25% of your contracted hours until you return to Nursery.
What if I don’t want to pay a retention fee due to my individual circumstances?
You can terminate your child’s place. However, returning would be dependant on availability and you will be charged at the new daily rate.
What happens if my child attends either fully or partial funded hours and we don’t return from 1st June?
You would pay a 25% retention fee for any hours you would normally pay for. For example, if your normal monthly cost is £200.00 less £150.00 funding you would pay £12.50 being 25% of your normal balance.
If my child started settling in sessions prior to lock down but did not officially start are we able to have settling in sessions in June and start in July?
If you have already received your settling in sessions we will give you a further week.
Parents due to start June and July, are they allowed to push their start date back?
As per our Term and Conditions, (located on the website, under Parent as Partners) there is usually a fee for delayed starts with less than 8 weeks notice. However, under these unprecedented times you may delay your start up to 1st September with no fee, but at the new daily rates.
Parents who’s children were due to start during April/May, but wish to delay their start date until September need to pay a retention fee or be put on a new rate?
There will be no retention fee but they will be charged at the new rates.
If the Nursery has requested I reduce my days to keep rooms within space requirements, do I have to pay a retention fee for the days I have been asked not to attend?
No, as this would be a nursery decision.

To all parents at all Brook Babes Nurseries/Clubs
The gradual reopening of Brook Babes Nurseries and Out of School Clubs
The government is asking all childcare settings and providers to welcome back all children, below statutory school age, from Week Commencing 1st June, 2020. Providers may introduce a temporary cap on numbers to ensure that safety is prioritised. They have also stated that early years children and staff cannot be expected to remain two meters apart from each other and that nurseries will continue with the current ratio’s, as defined by the EYFS.
I want to make it clear that we will only open our Nurseries and Out of School Clubs if we are satisfied the risks have been mitigated to the extent that it is safe to do so. The health and safety of staff and pupils is a guiding principle in every decision we make.
Our initial plans are that all our nurseries will be open from Monday 1st June, 2020.
Looking ahead, we will continue to prioritise, above all others, vulnerable and key worker children.
To minimize social contact as much as possible, children will be split into small groups which they will remain in throughout the day. Rooms may be split to enable children to be in separate areas to play with a member of staff to reduce contact and mixing.
Out of School Clubs
Unfortunately, due to the restrictions in place within schools in respect of the mixing of groups, the clubs will remain closed at the present time. This is a continually developing situation and we will advise you when we expect to reopen.
Finance and invoicing
Given the current circumstances we understand that some parents will have concerns about returning or have other reasons why they are unable to return at the current time.
From W/Comm 1st June until Friday 28th August we would like to implement the following: -
Unattended contracted days cannot be swapped for days later in this period.
Parents, whose Nursery children will not be returning within this period, can request that their places are held, but there will be a retention fee. Where the parent wishes to cancel, their places will be offered to other parents on our waiting lists.
Parents, who cancel their place returning in September, will be charged at any new rates the nursery is charging from that date. Parents retaining their places will have their costs held at the current rate throughout the remainder of 2020.
From W/Comm 31st August, invoicing will return to being based on contracted places.

Director – Brook Babes Nursery
12th May 2020
Following the Prime Minister's announcement on Sunday 10 May, we now know that there is a conditional plan for nurseries to return from Monday 1 June.
The Prime Minister emphasised that the return to nurseries and the re-opening of some businesses, from this date remains dependent on satisfactory progress being maintained in the response to coronavirus covid-19 and will be reviewed on the 28th May.
Further details will become clear over the coming days and once we are in possession of the facts, our website will be updated and we will contact you again.
We will continue to be guided by Government advice and our key, overriding focus will be to ensure that our nursery is a safe place for both pupils and staff.
Thank you for your continued patience in these testing times.
Mrs J L and Mr N S Hussey
23rd March 2020
Firstly, I hope you are all keeping safe and wish everyone the very best in such difficult times.
Following the announcement from the Prime Minister on 23rd March, it was made clear that we all must play our part in preventing the spread of the infection and leaving our homes to an absolute minimum.
The Government have advised, wherever possible, parents keep their children at home.
Childcare providers are mandatory obliged to remain closed. The exceptions are to care for specified key worker children.
As of W/Comm Monday 30th March our Wetherby setting will remain open, for families where both parents are Key Workers and they have no other childcare options. Furthermore, it must be on an emergency only basis for the minimum hours required.
To reserve a place, you will need to contact us no later than Thursday of the previous week. This will enable us to make the necessary staffing arrangements. However, we understand this is an emergency situation. Therefore, if you are a critical worker you may be required to work at short notice. If this is the case, providing we are able to care for your child in line with staff ratio’s, we will endeavour to assist.

Nursery Invoicing: There will be no further invoicing until the nursery reopens.
Out of School Club Invoicing: There will be a further invoice raised in April to cover balances to Friday 20th March. This will be explained in the email accompanying the invoice.
Payments: Given the circumstances, we would appreciate that all accounts are brought up to date as soon as possible. Statements will be sent out next week.
We will continue to keep you updated via your Tapestry account. For Out of School Club Parents, this will be via email or phone.
Finally, thank you for the kind thoughts of parents during these difficult times. These are very much appreciated. More importantly, please look after yourselves.
